Karling's Inn Restaurant
When we initially moved to DeLand, we decided we wanted to try just about every restaurant around. When we were driving around we discovered Karling's Inn in DeLeon Springs and went in to look at the menu. We are always looking for a place with a unique atmosphere to go for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. Read more… I have childhood memories of my birthdays when our family would go to a special restaurant that had cloth napkins, and I got to look grown up. I would wear my mary janes and have a kiddy cocktail! The restaurant wasn't so fancy that you felt uncomfortable, just kind of classy and homey at same time. That's how we feel when we come to Karling's Inn, always welcome and always comfortable. The building is reminiscent of a mountain top chalet which really stands out in DeLeon Springs! When you go inside, its like stepping into Bavaria. The owners are from Germany and yes, they offer the traditional schnitzel and strudel. But they also offer a wide variety of other gourmet entrée's such as Florida grouper with a creamy crab sauce, chicken marsala, Italian dishes and lots of seafood choices. Lily makes the most wonderful desserts and her chocolate mousse is the best I've ever eaten. Their portions are quite generous so be prepared to carry out a "doggy bag". If you want to have a lovely dining experience that is special but comfortable, I definitely recommend Karling's Inn.  Linda Sacha Lake Helen         |
