Outdoors & Nature

West Volusia is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise! Take a swim, paddle a canoe or pitch a tent in any of the area's scenic parks. Jump on the Spring-to-Spring Trail and you'll be able to hike, bike or skate to many of our natural and cultural attractions.

Our region is covered in thousands of acres of pristine wilderness, home to hundreds of species of migratory birds and the second largest Southern bald eagle nesting habitat in America. Nature lovers and bird watchers flock to our area to observe the abundant wildlife and unspoiled wilderness.

The St. Johns River offers plenty of great year-round fishing. Head out on your own or hire a local fishing guide who knows the perfect spots for filling your stringer with some of the best freshwater fish in Florida! Guided eco-tours are another way to experience the river's natural beauty and find the best places to spot a sunning alligator or a family of manatees.
