This campground has 51 campsites which are located in the sand pine scrub and is within walking distance to the spring. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, water, electricity and a grill. A dump station is available in the park. Pets are welcome in camping area. Blue Spring State Park also offers the Bedtime Story Camper Lending Library of picture books for campers aged four to nine.

This spring plays a vital role in the survival of one of Florida's most loved residents - the manatee. Known as the winter home of the manatee, more than 200 of these lovable mammals flock to the 72-degree spring from November through March. The area was a very active Native American settlement and then later a popular steamboat stop for Northern visitors. A favorite area recreation area.
